Putting your wellbeing and safety at the centre of our work.

Terms and Conditions

1. Confidentiality
Everything you share in therapy is treated with the utmost confidentiality. The only exceptions to this are:

  • If I believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else

  • If I am legally required to disclose information (e.g. in cases of serious crime or safeguarding)

  • When discussing work in professional supervision, as required by the BACP

In any situation where I feel it may be necessary to break confidentiality, I will always aim to discuss this with you first wherever possible.

2. Session Details
Each full session lasts 50 minutes and typically takes place on a weekly basis at a mutually agreed time.

I also offer:

  • Half sessions (30 minutes) for those who prefer shorter appointments or are easing into therapy

  • Biweekly sessions for clients who require more flexibility or feel that every other week is more suitable

Sessions are available in person or online, depending on your preference and our agreement.

3. Fees & Payment

  • Standard rate: £60 per 50-minute session

  • Half session (30 minutes): £30

  • Concession rates may be available for clients experiencing financial difficulty

  • Block bookings (e.g. 4 sessions for £204 – 15% off) are available

  • Payment is due in advance or on the day of the session via bank transfer

4. Cancellations & Missed Sessions
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, may be charged at the full rate unless there are exceptional circumstances.

5. Holidays & Breaks
I will give as much notice as possible of any planned breaks on my part.

Clients are welcome to take up to 8 weeks of holiday per calendar year without being charged, provided this is communicated in advance. To support the continuity of the therapeutic process, no more than 5 consecutive weeks should be taken at one time.

Please aim to give at least one week’s notice when planning any breaks.

6. Ending Therapy
You are free to end therapy at any time. However, a planned ending is encouraged where possible, to allow time for reflection and closure. I will also let you know if I feel that therapy is no longer suitable or if another form of support may be more beneficial for you.

7. Ethical Practice
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development to ensure ethical, safe, and effective practice.

8. Online & Telephone Sessions
For online or phone sessions, I ensure I am in a private, quiet space and ask that you do the same. A stable internet connection and a confidential environment are important to maintain the quality and safety of our work.

9. Emergencies & Crisis Support
As a private practitioner, I do not offer emergency or crisis services. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent mental health support, please contact your GP, attend your local A&E, or call 999. You can also reach out to Samaritans (116 123) for 24/7 emotional support.

10. Social Media & Boundaries
To maintain healthy professional boundaries and protect the therapeutic relationship, I do not accept friend or follow requests on my personal social media accounts.

You are welcome to follow my professional pages, where I may share reflections, resources, and mental health content. Engagement with these pages is entirely optional and will not affect your therapy.

11. Medical Issues
If you have any medical conditions that I should be aware of—especially anything that could be relevant in the event of a medical emergency—please let me know at the start of our work together. This allows me to support your wellbeing in the safest and most informed way possible.
