Therapy that meets you where you are.

About My Practice

Welcome to Tia Coakley Therapy

As a qualified therapist, my goal is to provide an open and safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I believe therapy is a collaborative non-judgemental process that empowers individuals from all backgrounds to better understand themselves, build resilience, and gain confidence in their ever evolving circumstances.

In our therapy sessions, we create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. My approach is integrative, drawing from 3 main therapeutic approaches. The first is Gestalt Therapy which focuses on enhancing awareness and links between emotional and physical experiences through body activation techniques and breathwork. This style is very much in the here and now.

Alongside grounding work I use Psychodynamic Theory to explore how childhood experiences/past trauma have impacted your current relationship patterns. This really helps to solidify understanding of how your past connects to your present reality.

Lastly, and perhaps the most significant of the modalities I draw from is Person-Centred Therapy which relies heavily on the therapeutic relationship. This means, I put you and your needs at the centre of the work always. You are the expert of your own life, I am here as guidance to foster self-growth and healthy communication.

We will explore your thoughts and feelings on any arising issue without judgment always. We can operate a long-term therapy structure which allows you to control when to decide you no longer need the therapy and we will stay in open communication about this throughout our sessions. I predominantly work online but I can provide in-person therapy if needed depending on time of day. I am a qualified member of BACP.

About Me

I am London-Born female-identifying psychotherapist with mixed South Asian heritage (English/Indian).

I live between London and Avebury, in the Stone Circle, where the land holds a strong sense of presence and history. Being there has shaped how I understand the importance of nature, connection, life cycles, and soulful healing. This experience informs how I work in therapy—steady, grounded, and rooted in trust.

I believe therapy is a collaborative non-judgemental process that empowers individuals from all backgrounds to better understand themselves, build resilience, and gain confidence in their ever evolving circumstances. I have a deep understanding of transitional life stages, relationship challenges, and the complexities of identity including, but not limited to; race, gender identity, sexuality, and neurodiversity. I strive to explore how these intersect with the world around us and the impact this may have on mental wellbeing.

I have always been a humanist in nature and practice. I believe that human life is precious. Consciousness is something to cherish and nurture. I celebrate each of our complexities, differences and value the unique stories every individual brings.

Together, we’ll work to uncover the root of your current struggles and create a path forward toward your self-actualising aspirations.
